Enjoy Mozambique Community guidelines version 1.0
Enjoy Mozambique is a community built to help each other. A community built for those who love Mozambique to share their love of Mozambique with others. And for visitors to find out about Mozambique, fall in love with it and join the community.
We want a helpful, happy and agile community that can welcome diverse ideas and cultures and help each other to enjoy the wonders of Mozambique.
We gain strength from diversity, and actively seek participation from those who enhance it. This code of conduct exists to ensure that this diverse group help each other for enjoyment. We will challenge prejudice that could jeopardize the participation of any person in the community.
The Code of Conduct governs how we behave when using the Enjoy Mozambique platform, or represent it on other platforms. We expect it to be honored by everyone who is a member of Enjoy Mozambique.
We strive to:
- Be considerate
Our comments, posts and articles will be used and read by other people, and we in turn will read the work of others. Anything we write will affect members of the community, and we should consider them when choosing what to write.
- Be respectful
Disagreement is no excuse for poor manners. We work together to resolve conflict, assume good intentions and do our best to act in an empathetic fashion. We don’t allow frustration to turn into a personal attack. This is not a community where people should feel uncomfortable or threatened.
- Take responsibility for our words and our actions
We can all make mistakes; when we do, we take responsibility for them. If someone has been harmed or offended, we listen carefully and respectfully, and work to right the wrong.
- Have communication all can understand
This is an English language website. The national language of Mozambique is Portuguese and we respect that. But this website is for an English speaking community. We welcome members who speak all languages, but the language of the website is English. On that basis please ensure all posts, comments and articles are written in English. Portuguese can be used where using it will help users and where a clear translation in English is given.
What is acceptable on Enjoy Mozambique:
This community is here to help everyone Enjoy the wonders of Mozambique. Please remember that when adding content to the website.
- Points of view
We all have different points of view on many things. Please share your point of view within the community, that is what it is for. Please share your point of view even if it goes against the views of other community members. But do this in a polite way, that makes it clear this is your point of view. Do it without using insults, implied or otherwise, toward members of the community with the opposing point of view. - Correcting mistakes
Community members and members of the Enjoy Moz team will make mistakes. We all want this community to be the best it can be so please help us by pointing out these mistakes. There is a reporting form on the bottom of every page that can be used for this. Please ensure that you are always polite when pointing out mistakes on the website and with other people’s content.
What is not acceptable on Enjoy Mozambique:
This community is here to help everyone Enjoy the wonders of Mozambique. Please remember that when adding content to the website. The following will not be tolerated:
- Insults of any kind
- Intolerant behavior of any kind (racist, homophobic, sexist or any other)
- Personal comments about other members of the community
- Bullying of community members
- Giving personal information, including location, about other members of the community
- Spreading of fake news
We understand that sometimes it can be hard to differentiate between fake and real news. But spreading fake news does cause harm. If you have information that has not been verified on a professional news outlet please ensure you make it very clear that what you are sharing has not been verified by a news outlet and you are unsure if the news is genuine. If the news has not been verified and is likely to lead to panic, unrest or harm do not share it.
If these guidelines are not followed:
- Member Reporting
All members of the community are able to report content that they feel is not in the spirit of these community guidelines. Any content reported will immediately be taken down for review by a member of Enjoy Moz. Enjoy Moz will then decide if the content should be permanently removed, edited with the author’s permission, or made live again. Both the reporter and the author may be involved in the discussion, but the decision of Enjoy Moz is final. The reporter may remain anonymous to the author during this process if they wish. - Monitoring
Enjoy Moz monitor content on the website. Enjoy Moz representatives may report any content they deem to not be following community guidelines. There will then be a process of review as outlined above in the reporting section. - Member bans and suspensions
Enjoy Moz can decide, if a breach of community rules is very serious, or if community rules are being broken at a more minor level but on a regular basis, that a member will be suspended or banned from Enjoy Moz. A suspension is for a fixed time period. A ban is permanent. It is the choice of Enjoy Moz as to whether content from banned or suspended users remains on the website or is removed. Decisions on bans or suspensions remain with Enjoy Moz and any decision made by Enjoy Moz is final.
- Language of content
Articles, posts and comments in any language other than English will be removed.
