Ponta Membene Lodge and Campsite
Ponta Membene Lodge is located inside the Maputo National Park just a few hours from Maputo, getting to the lodge and visiting MNP requires a 4×4. This adventurous drive is well worth it. The lodge offers self-catering cabins, a restaurant and a campsite for those looking for an experience closer to nature. Access to the beach is very easy for all ages and all accommodation is sheltered within the forest behind the dune. The beach in low tide offers a natural swimming pool with pristine water. The campsite is equipped with a couple of outlets, private showers with hot water, a small food preparation area and plenty of space for 4 tents to fit comfortably.

Membene is a bit of a drive through the park, the roads were challenging and definitely require 4×4 and low tire pressure but the place and the beach was worth it. The overall layout of the lodge is well thought out, everything connected with a boardwalk that runs along the dunes and provides great views of the beach and ocean. The Dune Chalet’s were well equipped and comfortable. We enjoyed both the service and the food at the restaurant. Highly recommend a visit.
