Bay View Lodge

Bay View Lodge is situated on the northern tip of the Barra peninsula, +/- 20km from Inhambane town and 485km north of Maputo. With an estuary behind the lodge and a L-O-N-G sandy beach in front, peace and tranquility are guaranteed. NO crowds, no traffic, no loud music! ‘Stress’ becomes a foreign word! Only relaxation, with as much or as little activity as you wish to get into – scuba diving, fishing, walking, bird watching, visiting the local craft markets ….
All houses are fully equipped for self-catering, but if the idea of cooking is just too much, well … welcome to enjoy meals in the restaurant, or sample different foods in the various other little restaurants and pubs near the lodge – all within easy walking distance of the lodge. All houses are within 80m of the beach, with sea views and serviced daily, except on Sundays and public holidays. All bedrooms are air-conditioned, each with its own en-suite bathroom – except the Group House, where 2 rooms share 1 bathroom.
All roads leading to the lodge is tarred, except for the last 4km which is dirt road, but NO 4×4 vehicle is needed to get to us. Normal passenger cars are fine!
Can also fly-in, with LAM airline – with daily flights from Maputo. We’ll arrange for airport transfers via prior arrangement at a small fee. While at the lodge you can get around with a local taxi – we use specific taxi drivers to transfer our guests where they wish to go.
